2016 ARTIST LINE UP, MORE TBA!

PAT ANGLIN

Patrick Anglin grew up influenced by the great Masters such as Salvador Dali and the surrealist movement, Pablo Picasso and his cubistic period and Claude Monet and his famous water lilies. He was classically trained at a very early age, always drawing and painting to music, and at the age of twelve Patrick won a scholarship to the Huntington School of Fine Art by drawing a nude model with charcoal. He was more formally trained at the University of Hofstra, where his art professors told him, “we can teach you colors and line, but what you have inside you is unique,” encouraging his personal style. In 2007 was the first time Patrick saw an artist (David Lebo) perform live at Langerado Music and Art Festival, and it was there that he found his path. Since then, Patrick has been an official live painter at some of the biggest Music and Art Festivals in and out of the country, and has co-founded Because of the Lotus. With a style full of colors and narrative expressionism, Patrick continues to grow and improve his technique to this day.

Roots in internet radio and a relocation to Florida led Moe to create iHateRadio, a smartphone app and web library of independent radio stations, and has allowed him to cover some of the biggest music festivals in the country as a media outlet. His technological evolution has now bloomed into Projection Mapping and digital art for Because of the Lotus, and Lightbrush. LAURALY ATRIA

When I pick up a paint brush I lose time. I fade away in my subconscious, indulging in the creative forces that lay there. My mark making is an organic free flow of gestural shapes. Through automatism, my mind and hand are free to move about the canvas creating what they deem possible. I am a secretary to my thoughts and the events happening around me. I chose to focus primarily on nature and the organic quality of living, the expansion of human life and the decomposition of man witnessed through Mother Nature.

Through extracting figures I find a closer relationship with them. By taking subjects out of their context and relating them to color, I find a new, more personal meaning. Through color theory and the manipulation of paint I aspire to evoke human emotion. The paint is applied thickly, often by palette knife, and twirled together, mixing and moving on the canvas as it pleases. The under-painting is often revealed through the removal of wet paint in a staccato like motion. By activating the entire canvas I take the viewer on a visual roller-coaster, going in and through the paint. Submerging thought and fluid movement into one.

ZAK HOLLEY

Zak Holley is a spiritual traveler whose journey toward self-realization has unveiled an innate artistic responsibility. With intentions to increase humanity’s collective consciousness, his work depicts a higher vibrational frequency of information available to all by tuning into one’s Higher Self through a deep awakening of the psyche. Since childhood, he naturally gravitated toward art – the intricacies of object formation and geometrical patterning in our optical plane have sparked a fervent curiosity. This inquisitiveness made him initially take notice of graffiti at the age of 6 and continued to allure him with its deep mysteriousness and anonymity. By adolescence, the enigma of graffiti now surfaced as an outlet of vivid expression for his imaginative vision. In the present, a background in having formally studied art at Ringling School of Art & Design harmonizing with a continuous exploration for mindfulness converges in drawing, painting, and design in the traditional and digital format, along with sculpting as well. Throughout Zak’s voyage, music intertwined with every artistic creation. As it continues to inspire his creative process, it became clear that his visual expression be brought to fruition alongside his favorite musicians. By adding an element of co-creation to such a mystical experience, it shall remind audiences of the inventive, unique voice in each of us. His purpose is to continually act in his highest core self in order to serve the greater creative spirit and to provide an elevated way of life. This synchronicity will allow our planet to rise up together in reach of grander consciousness.
