Dear Family, Friend, Neighbor, Fan

Our dear 23-year-old son Benjamin passed away from a prescription drug overdose in 2011. Our hearts are broken, and our lives have been changed forever. No parent should have to endure the intense pain of losing his or her child, especially to a legal substance. Nor should any young adult lose a peer in such a manner. But unfortunately, this crisis has reached epidemic proportions, leaving many lost in its wake.

Ben was a huge hearted, extremely talented and much loved individual. He treasured listening to music, fishing, his dog Delilah and the outdoors. However, he succumbed to the deadly cycle of addiction following a hip replacement surgery to repair a degenerative medical issue seven months before his passing.

We were trying to think of a way to honor and celebrate Ben’s life when his brother came up with the idea to hold a music and arts festival, appropriate since Ben loved music and the festival community. With the overwhelming support of Ben’s friends, it was decided to organize the event and use any money raised by the festival to help people with addiction. In addition, it was suggested that we have councelors on site to aid anyone needing help or wanting to talk. Powered by a team of motivated youth that recognizes that true power is in action, the B.E. Easy Music and Arts Festival and the B.E. Easy Scholarship Fund Inc. a 501(c)3 charitable organization), were established.

We are Non-profit

Our Vision: The B.E. Easy Music and Arts Festival is a celebration of life where families and friends can come together to enjoy inspired music and art, delicious food and drink as well as a variety of healthy workshops all while supporting a cause that saves lives. The Festival is our primary source for raising the money to support the B.E. Easy Scholarship Fund.

Our Mission: Addiction is a disease and without treatment, it can worsen and become fatal. Our goal is to provide resources through the B.E. Easy Scholarship Fund to those who are struggling with addiction and want to get help but lack the financial ability or don’t know where to get the help they need. Our slogan - Open Dialogue Saves Lives - promotes the benefits of open and honest communication between friends and family.

Our Request: We need your help. We are hard pressed to find anyone who hasn’t in some way been affected by addiction or mental health issues. We strive to make it easy for those who are sympathetic to our cause to donate funds or services to the B.E. Easy Scholarship Fund. We are also seeking sponsorship for the B.E. Easy Music and Arts Festival with the following pages describing those opportunities. Our goal is for this Festival to be completely funded by donations and sponsorships so that every dollar raised at the event can be used to support the Scholarship Fund. If you or someone you know may be interested in donating or becoming a sponsor, we urge you to get in touch to discuss these opportunities. No donation is too small.
